Personal Training

Bree started her weight loss journey in 2011 when I topped out at 250 pounds. Battling an incurable chronic illness that thrives on body fat, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. At first I tried every quick fix, every fad diet, pill, and program. Sure I would lose a little weight but I would always gain it back plus some.

When I got serious about my journey and my life I started to educate myself and I came to Cal Courts. By eating clean and plant based and dedicating my lifestyle to fitness I was able to loose over 100 pounds and keep it off.

Within my journey I developed a love and passion for fitness and nutrition. By sharing my transformation on social media to keep myself accountable I began to realize I was motivating others to change their lives as well.

This touched me and I knew I had to do what it took to be able to really help people on a deeper level. I decided that I wanted to make it my new passion, my career. I studied with NASM and became a personal trainer and group instructor. I later acquired my specialization in Fitness Nutrition with an emphasis in vegan athletes, Hypertrophy Specialist, Crossfit Level 1 trainer, and Spin indoor cycle instructor.

When I'm not working at CalCourts you can find me lifting weights, doing cardio, yoga, Crossfit, And REVV. When I'm not in the gym you can find me outside riding my bike. Running on trails or participating in local races and west coast obstacle course races and mud runs. I'm so excited to always evolve as a trainer and instructor to keep things exciting and effective.

Because I believe fitness and nutrition should be fun and natural by encouraging my methodology that it the lifestyle is not a job or a chore but a blessing and a gift!

Nutrition

My name is Shanley Schoenhofer. I am a Degreed Nutritionist. I graduated from Chico State University majoring in Nutrition, with specific interest in sports nutrition and preventative nutrition education, and minored in Health and Wellness.

While attending college, I was an officer of Chico State’s Nutrition Club, completed a competitive internship working as a Nutrition Educator for low income families and individuals, and was a counselor for the athletes of Chico State where I was available for one-on-one diet evaluation for specific level of activity and performance goals.

My career experiences have ranged over the years in nutrition and wellness. I’ve coached youth sports, taught conditioning classes, helped individuals reach their goal weight, coordinated, developed and lead nutrition education workshops that aim to prevent obesity, diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.

I’ve promoted nutrition outreach and obesity prevention for non-profit organizations, created meal menus for senior care home facilities, lead healthy cooking classes and grocery store tours, taught nutrition education in classrooms, evaluated diets and created meal plans and have worked with the athletes of Chico State.

My true love and passion for nutrition goes way before and beyond my college and career experience. As a child, I suffered from a serious nutrition related illness. As a survivor, I made a promise to myself that my past experience is going to help someone’s present.

My dream is to help others achieve that ultimate nutrition related goal, whether that be to lose 20 pounds, gain 20 pounds, run their first half marathon or to learn how to develop a healthy eating pattern for their overall health. I believe that nutrition should be a priority in everyone’s life.
